  • Struggling to get to sleep or finding it difficult to stay asleep?
  • Fed up of waking at 3am and worrying in the darkness?
  • Feeling exhausted in the morning and having to drag yourself out of bed?

How you sleep (or not) affects everything.

In the short-term, you are left fighting to get through your day, due to feeling shattered and foggy-brained. And feeling like you are just existing, rather than living.

Longer-term, sleeplessness is unfortunately correlated with a higher risk of many health problems such as depression, obesity, diabetes and heart problems.

The ‘Sleep Better’ Sessions consists of a 4-week live course, specifically designed to help you improve the quality and quantity of your sleep naturally.

Here’s the secret …

The reason why you are unable to consistently sleep well is that you are only looking at the problem from one angle. You might have tried sleeping tablets – herbal or prescribed – but they made you feel groggy the next day. And you might be worried about becoming dependent on them. Or perhaps you’ve had a go at some relaxation sessions – but they didn’t work for you.

I get that you need to be able to function well so you can keep up with life’s demands on you, from working to looking after your family. But this ‘sticking plaster’ approach may not be enough for you to see real results. It also does not address the root causes of what is really going on.

You may not be aware of the wide number of factors that can influence sleep, particularly when our hormones are imbalanced (as is often the case in our 40’s & 50’s).

My Circadian Reset System enables you to look at the problem from a number of different angles, and provides an evidence-based, systematic and comprehensive approach to improving your sleep.

My course will take you through this system – to identify and address the root causes of your sleeplessness, using natural approaches and health coaching.

‘I have enjoyed learning and you are an extremely dedicated and patient teacher. I have managed to implement a number of the changes we discussed and I am already feeling less tired and fatigued’

I support ambitious individuals to understand, manage & heal the root causes of their poor sleep, low energy and mood swings so that they feel happier and find the freedom to fulfil their dreams!

 How will it work?

This is a 4-Week Course brought to you by Michelle Paterson, a Registered Nutritional Therapist & Health Coach.

This course has been developed in response to demand for a lower-cost, less intensive option than my signature individual coaching programmes. In addition to being more affordable, I am delighted to be able to provide this course to more people through running small groups in person and online.

Due to the individual coaching element, I am only able to provide a small number of places on this course. This course is available at the introductory price on this occasion only (further details are available below).

You must sign-up via the link on this page. This link will close when all places are taken.

In-person courses are held at The Tree Room in Colchester town centre. A daytime & an early evening group are available. Full details are available via the booking button.

In the event that in-person courses are unable to take place due to COVID19 restrictions, participants will be offered an online alternative.

Frequently Asked Questions

Who is this course exactly for?
It is for hormonally-challenged women in their 40’s and 50’s who want to improve the quantity and quality of their sleep.
I’m younger than 40 or older than 59 – will this course work for me?
The course is designed for women who are having difficulty sleeping primarily. However, the age group is relevant as hormone imbalance is often a factor and may particularly affect women in their 40’s and 50’s. This is covered in the course. However, women of other ages may also benefit from the course (and of course hormone imbalance is not confined to these decades!).
Who is this course not suitable for?

If you have struggled with insomnia for many years, seen other experts and tried lots of alternative approaches, it may be that you will need a more intensive and individualised approach than this course can provide.

Similarly, if you have continuously taken medication for insomnia for many years, you may find this course of less value to you.

If you are aware that your difficulty sleeping is due to Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) or other deep-seated psychological issue, you may gain more benefit more specialised therapy initially. If you are in any doubt if you are suited to this course, please contact me: michelle@transitionnutrition.co.uk before purchase.

Surely I just need medication to help me sleep?
While there are lots of medications that can help you sleep, these also often come with side-effects. This course focuses specifically on strategies to support sleep naturally.
Has how I sleep really got anything to do with what I eat?
What, when & how you eat can have truly powerful effects on how you feel and how your body and mind functions, including how you sleep. Nutrition is one part of the Circadian Reset System that will be discussed on the course.
If I’m not sleeping due to my hormones, surely I just need HRT to replace them?
Many women who are not sleeping due to perimenopause or menopause do find HRT useful. Others find that HRT is not a ‘magic bullet’ that solves all their symptoms. Other women choose not to take HRT or have been advised not to due to their health issues. Irrespective of HRT, there are many other strategies that can and do help support sleep in women with hormone imbalance naturally. These approaches are covered during the course.
My lack of sleep is due to my partner snoring/young children disturbing my sleep. Will this course still help me?
In these scenarios, the root cause is external to you so it is likely that this course would be of limited benefit. But do encourage your partner to get him/her self checked out as snoring can also be detrimental to health (as well as disturbing your sleep!).
To benefit from this course, will I need to spend lots of time and energy making changes?
Other than the time spent attending the course, as with many things, the time you put in will help you to get results. However, the course programme includes time to help you to choose bite-sized actions, that are relevant to you. You are free to implement at your own pace but do remember – ‘if nothing changes, nothing changes!’.

‘I would definitely recommend the service to my friends/family. I think youprovided professional and well-researched adviceand that you understandyour subject thoroughly. Thank you!’
