'Healthy Happy Hormones'

What happened to you?

Maybe you can’t quite pinpoint exactly when, but things changed. In your 30’s, life was better. Things were just well…..easier, before perimenopause.

If you feel like you have become a slave to your symptoms and you are missing out on the things you love, it really is time to take action.

Life is about so much more than ‘just getting through the day’. It’s about having the energy & vitality to choose freely how you spend your ‘off-duty’ time, despite perimenopause! To do the things that light you up, with your favourite people, and work towards fulfilling your dreams. Or whatever your version of this is.

It’s not all about oestrogen and progesterone.

Although for many women, the path to menopause is a natural process, the struggle can be significant. The truth is that during this time of life, hormonal changes can often ‘shine a light’ on health problems that were previously just niggles.

Fluctuating and reducing oestrogen, progesterone and testosterone levels may bring some level of disruption by themselves. But setting this scenario in the landscape of other imbalanced hormones, especially stress hormones, can catapult symptoms to a whole other level. The systems of the body, after all, are all inter-connected. And so much of how we feel (physically and mentally) is regulated by our full complement of hormones – including sleep, appetite, energy, mood, and sex drive.

Despite being very helpful for some women, this is why Hormone Replacement Therapy (HRT) is not usually enough to help fully manage all of the symptoms a woman is experiencing.

What is needed during perimenopause

What is needed at this time is a systematic and comprehensive approach that seeks to naturally and holistically support all the systems of the body that are under pressure. Not a sticking plaster or a scattergun approach.

Regardless of whether you choose (or are able) to take HRT or not, the good news is that there is still lots that you can do using nutrition and lifestyle changes to support you in managing your symptoms and your journey.

Perimenopause

I can help…..

I provide specific support programmes for women in perimenopause. The additional pressure on systems at this stage of life benefit significantly from a holistic management approach, and energy, mood and sleep are often affected (my specialist areas).

I am also a menopause mentor within the NHS, providing support to my colleagues working within GP practices and coaching supporting to patients and provide talks on this topic.

If you are struggling with symptoms you think may be connected with your hormones, why not take this opportunity for a deep-dive into what’s going on, with me, a Registered Nutritional Therapist and Health Coach?

A good starting place is to book my Invigorate Perimenopause Coaching session. This session will also provide a helpful taster of what it is like to work with me. If you decide you need more support, your payment is redeemable against most of my other Transition Nutrition programmes* so it’s win-win!

Your coaching session

The aim of this session is to support you to work out your next steps in managing current symptoms you are struggling with, that may be related to perimenopause. This session will include coaching support and advice in relation to nutrition and lifestyle measures.

You will be required to complete a short questionnaire in advance. We will then have a 1-2-1 session (approx. 30minutes) on Zoom to explore your current situation, symptoms and what you wish to achieve. You will receive my recommendations via email within 7 days of this session.
Please note my ‘Power through Peri’ session is relevant to you if you are experiencing symptoms that you believe are connected to your hormones, regardless or not whether you are technically in menopause (i.e. not having had a menstrual bleed for over 12 months).

If you are unsure whether or not you are having symptoms that are connected to your hormones, please have a look at my checklist of some of the relevant symptoms here

“Michelle was amazing! In just half an hour I’d put do many jigsaw pieces together I could easily see where I could make both short term and long-term changes and why my body reacts the way it does.
