'Healthy Happy Hormones'

Testing can be a really useful tool to help identify more clearly which areas to focus on, alongside other sources of information from your case history and symptoms. I use a wide range of national and international laboratories that primarily work directly with practitioners. Many of these tests are not usually available in mainstream health settings.

I choose, arrange and interpret a wide range of tests (e.g. blood, stool, urine, saliva, hair) that can tell us more about how your body is functioning. For example, testing can tell us more about things like your digestive functions, hormones (including sex hormones, thyroid and stress), foods you may be sensitive to or where you may have deficiencies of certain nutrients. Listed below are examples of tests I commonly use.

Stool testing provides us with a great deal of information about how our digestive system, the root of all health is functioning.

Food Sensitivity Testing

(Also known as food intolerance testing)

This test identifies foods that our immune system is likely to be reacting to. It may be helpful for people with various symptoms/conditions such as IBS, eczema or arthritis.

Coeliac Screen

This test screens for coeliac disease, a condition in which someone whose immune system is reacting to gluten-containing products.

Organic Acids

Measurement of organic acids can provide valuable information about nutrient status such as need for certain vitamins. It also provides information about neurotransmitters that have an effect on mood in addition to many other markers pertinent to energy and toxins. Testing may be particularly beneficial for people with mood disorders, chronic stress or fatigue.

Vitamin D Test

Test for levels of the sunshine vitamin (actually a hormone) which plays a vital role in good health, including bone health, immunity, gut health, hormone health, nervous system and more!

Other Testing

Dependent on symptoms and circumstances, I may recommend other appropriate testing.

Working With Me

We are just like plants really! Stick us in a some good quality soil (a positive environment) and nourish well with the right nutrients and plentiful hydration, depending on our needs. Provide resilience against toxins (support our detoxification and elimination) and other enemies (like stress). And give us a good quantity and quality of rest (yes, plants sleep too!). And just like plants, with a nourishing diet and lifestyle, our mind and body can do their best for us and we can thrive!

What My Clients Say

Testimonials

“I’ve come to think of Michelle as an energy detective while I’ve been working with her. Even when there was a factor that would have been easy to pin everything onto, Michelle could see there was more to the story. She skillfully recommended some swaps and supplements that have been real game changers for me. So much so that I have taken on a new job, that is potentially quite demanding, but I feel I have the capacity now in a way I didn’t feel before, when it felt like I always needed to conserve my energy.

My sugar and caffeine cravings have practically gone (which I’m shocked to be writing) and that classic tired but wired feeling seems like a thing of the past.

Unlike my expectations of nutritionists from years ago, Michelle is not going to tell you to eat salad and cut out all desserts. She wants you to ENJOY food and eat combinations and the variety that will help you feel great.

I can’t thank Michelle enough for her tips and expertise, all relayed in a way that is kind, clear and practical.”
