Looking after your staff

You already know that your staff are the lifeblood of your organisation. It takes a special sort of person to support others, day in, day out. Taking care of others, particularly when they are struggling or coping with difficult circumstances, can take it’s toll on staff.

I have worked with many individuals, in my current business and previous professional life, who are extremely caring and supportive of others. But (and this often goes with the territory), they put their own needs on the back burner.

On an individual level, over time, staff can become burned out. Staff may also develop more obvious physical and mental manifestations of this strain and lack of self-care.

I can help. My nutrition, lifestyle medicine and coaching programmes can provide direct and tangible support in supporting staff wellbeing and resilience.

A variety of flexible options are available from lunchtime talks or sessions at ‘away days’ to individual nutrition and health coaching sessions. These could be part of an existing prevention programme and/or focused on extending support to employees who have specific health-related issues. I can work with you to design specific sessions to meet the challenges that your organisation is facing.

The benefits to your workplace include:

  • A more focused, engaged and energetic workforce
  • Improved team morale, productivity and resilience
  • A positive culture where staff feel that their pastoral needs are recognised and addressed
  • Reduced absenteeism, particularly in relation to common issues such as stress, anxiety and menopause-related symptoms

“I really enjoyed Michelle’s presentation at our work away day on how to sleep better. Our jobs are fast paced and stressful at time and quality sleep is much needed. Michelle helped us to quickly understand why good sleep is so important and what we could all do to improve the things we were struggling with. The session was lively and interactive and Michelle was able to explain everything in such a relatable style and in a common sense way.

I learned how not only our lifestyle but our genes impact sleep patterns, or lack of them and more importantly how we could make some changes. She gave us some top tips on how to reduce stress and rebalance our blood sugar, teaching us the direct link between nutrition and the timing of when we eat to whether or not we sleep well enough. I personally left the day feeling like a lightbulb had been switched on with a toolbox of suggestions to try out straight away. Michelle really helped me to improve my understanding of why our mind and body works the way it does, and more importantly, the belief that we can all make a change for the better”

Looking after your clients

Would you like to add further support to grow the health & wellbeing of your clients?

If your charity works with people with existing mental and/or physical health conditions or challenges, nutrition and lifestyle medicine can add an additional layer of support and empower your clients with a range of tools to help improve their situation.

My support may range from education on a group or individual basis, to help your clients to understand and implement the basics of a nutritious diet, to detailed, specialized support for your clients with more complex needs.

You may wish to include regular nutrition, lifestyle and coaching support sessions as part of your existing offering, or an ad-hoc, session or workshop to focus on a particular need that has been identified by your clients.

“Michelle from Transition Nutrition delivered an exceptional online presentation for our clients who are affected by multiple sclerosis (MS), highlighting a holistic management approach to nutrition for improving brain health. Her session was not only informative, but also incredibly engaging for those attending.

Michelle’s session was a huge success, leaving attendees feeling empowered and equipped with valuable knowledge to take away and make actionable changes. We look forward to future collaborations with Transition Nutrition and highly recommend Michelle’s expertise to anyone seeking to optimise their wellbeing through nutrition

Working With Me

We are just like plants really! Stick us in a some good quality soil (a positive environment) and nourish well with the right nutrients and plentiful hydration, depending on our needs. Provide resilience against toxins (support our detoxification and elimination) and other enemies (like stress). And give us a good quantity and quality of rest (yes, plants sleep too!). And just like plants, with a nourishing diet and lifestyle, our mind and body can do their best for us and we can thrive!
